functional MRI at 7T
Website Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience
KNAW institute
At the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience / Spinoza Centre for Neuroimaging, we have two projects available for MSc students MBCS. Both projects will involve some data acquisition with a 7T MRI scanner, data analysis and interpretation and reporting. Basic programming skills in Matlab and/or Python will be useful.
1) Laminar fMRI, where we explore fMRI responses as a function of cortical depth. For this project, submillimeter resolution fMRI data is acquired. The analysis is quite specific to the high-resolution data and offers interesting challenges in handling and interpretation. Some pilot data is already available to train on.
2) Cerebellar fMRI in the context of autism. For the NWA project SCANNER (https://nwa-scanner.nl/), we will be acquiring and analyzing a large amount of 7T data. The internship would consist of assisting with data acquisition and tackling data analysis of part of the data, e.g. one of the functional experiments. Some pilot data is already available to train on. For this project, dutch language proficiency is required.
