Neurocognitive Correlates of Reactive Aggression: An RDoC Approach Using EEG, Pupillometry, and Virtual Reality

Rooted in the RDoC framework, we aim to measure the neurocognitive processes which underlie reactive aggressive behaviour across traits, behaviour, and neurophysiology (EEG and pupil dynamics) and afterwards compare this to aggressive behaviour seen in a series of provocative virtual reality games. We, furthermore, aim to test the efficacy of a beta-blocker in reducing reactive aggression in a repeated measures design.
The complexity of this research project will enable interns to learn multiple research techniques, including the analysis of largescale data sets. Previous experience with EEG is preferred but not essential as intense trainings will be provided before data collection.
